It came... and then it went! I can't believe tomorrow is New Years Eve and that we will soon be starting yet another new year! Time is flying by - I'd like to be able to keep up.
Christmas this year was great. Typically we go to my Gram's for Christmas Eve, but we had it at my Mama's house this year. The immediate family, minus JD, was all there to spend time together and eat lots of yummy food! We headed home, got a great nights rest, then headed back in the morning to spend Christmas day together with my family. Dan made us all a fantastic Christmas feast.... we loooove our cheesy chicken roll-ups! Then we opened presents (which is always fun!). Dan and I both got the most wonderful robes from Brookstone and warm fuzzy Ugg slippers! (Does it make us old and pathetic that we are REALLY excited about these gifts?! haha). We also got a few puzzles (again... we are old and boring), games, gift certificates to Babys R Us (yay!) and much more.
With my lay-off and therefore strapped income, we put a $25 limit on the gifts for each other. Dan presented me with FIVE games (he kinda cheated though - his tax made it $29!). I, however, kept it under the $25 limit by spending a mere $24.76 on a custom made t-shirt that says "MY WIFE ROCKS". Awesome :)
The day after Christmas we flew to Michigan to spend Christmas with his family. His sister Joanna and her Scottish fiance Eddie were in town from London, so it was wonderful to see them (and meet Eddie for the first time, actually!). I couldn't get enough of Eddie saying "Cheers" instead of "Thank you" and "toilet" instead of "bathroom". He is such a nice guy and seems to be a great fit for Jo! Oh - Eddie took pictures while we were there at their wedding shower. If I can get my hands on some of those, I'll post!
So... with the new year... how shall we celebrate? We will be heading over to Katie and Greg Berger's house for some new year cheer. We will have to see if I can actually stay awake until midnight. Here goes nothin'....
