Time for an update?? I guess it’s about time.
Two weekends ago we had the annual Foree reunion, hosted at my Dad’s house. Family came in from all over the Midwest. It was absolutely wonderful to see all of my family and for many of them to meet our little Miss Savannah for the first time. The weather (and food, might I add) was fantastic as usual!!
A few days later?? My cousin Matt and his girlfriend, Amy, had their baby girl Emalyn. She is absolutely beautiful!! I have yet to have time to get over to Illinois to meet her but I can’t wait to do so!! She looks absolutely precious (what baby isn’t?!) and they are absolutely thrilled with her arrival. The family is tickled with her. My Aunt Sandy flew in town and will be here for three weeks to be with them to help out (YAY!!!), so I can’t wait to see her as well :)
This past weekend at work we had a Board Meeting. I was responsible for planning the dinner on Friday night. In reality, it really wasn’t that big of a deal. The planning was fairly simple but I was nervous about it because I work for two of the smartest, most creative and most particular people I’ve ever met. And it was the first board dinner I’ve ever done. So, it was a bigger deal to me than it actually was. BUT it turned out really well and everyone had a great time. So, that’s done and next time will be a breeze (lets hope).
Savannah is teething like crazy.... but where are the freakin’ teeth!?!? The poor baby is hurting. Teething tablets and Tylenol help a lot. I just can’t wait for that tooth to pop through so she can finally have some relief for a little bit!!!
She is also trying to crawl. She has gotten the motion down a couple times, for a short distance, but hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it. Ninety-five percent of the time she stands on her hands and tippy toes and tries to walk in an arch shape. Then she falls on her side. Knees, Savannah. Knees, honey. It’s hysterical to watch. But sad, too, because she gets so frustrated! She can get to things she wants though, with time. She will try a couple different “moves”, then figure out how to shimmy herself to whatever it is she wants to get to. A “pseudo-crawl”, if you will. She’ll get the hang of it. It’s entertaining to watch for now.
Community Group starts back up this week and Dan and I are really excited about that. It will be nice to have some regular adult time with Christian friends. Also, now that the Banquet is over, there will lots of Young Life work to do in preparation for next year. Dan’s parents are coming in town the weekend of the 10th to visit, which will be great. I am also doing a 5K walk with my Mom that weekend for a charity event which I am really looking forward to!
PICTURES TO COME SOON!! :)
