I can't believe 2009 flew by so quickly! At times it seemed so boring (being unemployed, fat and pregnant....
that was boring), and at times it was so eventful! 2009 brought our family a lot of change, but we never really saw it in the moment. Yes, we had a baby - you'd think that would throw your life into a real whirlwind - but for us, we felt so prepared by God for the challenge of being parents that it was a rather seamless transition for us. I really have to sit back and reflect in order to see the big picture - we had our first
child. Dan started
graduate school. I started a
new job after being unemployed for 10 months. Those are big changes. However big, though, they have all been a
tremendous blessing and have added so much to our life dynamics. It's been a really cool year.
With 2009 in the past, I am so excited for 2010! Our baby girl will turn one year old in a matter of four short months. Dan will be doubling up on his graduate classes (the smarty pants has pulled off a 4.0 in all his classes so far with
minimal effort.... so why not? <
>). I will continue to learn to balance of a working mom. Dan and I both have side business ventures we are interested in pursuing on top of our current employment (who knows?!). We have discovered a church to call home and are very excited to dive in this new year! We will be married three years. We will take a trip to Arizona. And to San Diego. And to Las Vegas? Boston? Las Vegas? Boston? Somewhere else?! (And it'll be a girls only trip (minus baby) ... Happy Birthday to me!). PS - I LOVE to travel. You know those things that make you get that warm and fuzzy feeling in your core because you love it so much?? Traveling is one of those things for me!
There is just so much to look forward to! More change. More opportunity. More ways to love. More ways to be loved. More ways to share. More things to learn. And no matter what the year ends up looking like - no matter how cloudy it gets - I always try to remember - the SON is always shining.
