9 months and FIRST STEPS!!!

As of yesterday our kiddo is 9 months old!!!! We can't believe how quickly these past months have flown by and how quickly she grows. Its incredible!!! She changes everyday - right before our very eyes. AND.... to make her nine month "birthday" extra special.... she took her first steps! I'm talking REAL steps!!! It was such a fun and special moment for Dan and I! Savannah was cruising around the coffee table like she always does, then pulled away and stood.... and stood.... (she will stand, but will normally grab hold of the next piece of furniture or drop down)... and stood.... this is when Dan and I froze and started staring intently. She then took 3-4 intentional steps to the couch! We clapped and made a big deal of it - she clapped and laughed and thought she was just hot stuff. And she was!! What a big kid!! She took a few steps a couple more times after that, and we tried to catch it on video, but we would miss it by a nano-second each time :( It won't be long now before she's off and running around. Eeeeek!!!

Today I took her to her nine month checkup. She is 22lbs and 29 inches long which puts her at 90% for height and 75% for weight. The doctor joked and said "I bet you find yourself buying her new clothes constantly to keep up with her height". YES! She is healthy as can be and doing really well. She had to get two more shots - and did really well with those, too! It was almost comical this time. The first shot she had to get in her arm - and her reaction was hysterical! She looked at the nurse with a nasty little look and fussed at her like she was back talking! Like, "woman... try that again and I'll whip this diaper off and smack you with it!!". Its as if you took my sassy "looks" and "mouth" and gave it to her. The second shot was in her leg - she cried briefly after this shot, stood up to be held, then was fine. The first shot was a total crack up though.

This kid is such a ham. She puts on such a show wherever she goes. She is such a delight and makes Dan and my life so fantastic.... and so easy as parents. BUT.... if she's anything like me... good luck to us when she REALLY learns to talk ;)
