HAPPY NEW YEAR (a day late!)

I can hardly believe 2008 is behind us and 2009 has begun! Its mind-blowing how quickly time passes and how much we miss while getting caught up in the hub-bub of life. Goal for 2009: revel in the tiny details of life. Enjoy the precious moments... and maybe blog about them a bit so its easy to reference and bring back good memories! :)

As usual, our New Years eve was quite... well, quiet. Dan and I are hardly the partying type and enjoy small get-togethers with close friends much more. For our New Years eve celebration we headed over to Katie and Greg Berger's new home for a few hours. We met a few new people, played with their cute puppy Finnegan, and munched on some goodies. Sadly, I puckered out before midnight! We headed home around 11pm and went to bed. I guess we celebrated the New Years on east coast time. That's ok, right?

Today I had my 25 week doctors appointment. Everything looks great and I go back in yet another four weeks. My goal between now and then: to reduce my sugar intake. Apparently (and OBVIOUSLY) I'm gaining a bit too much weight a bit too fast. Ack. After the next appointment, my visits will be bi-weekly until the last stretch where I'll go in once a week. Six months down.... three to go!! I can't wait for our baby girl to arrive :)

Yesterday we purchased a crib and changing table for the nursery. The crib bedding also arrived and its so cute! I took the bedding to my parents store to ask Lori her opinion on paint colors (she was/is an interior decorator in her other life). We chose Benjamin Moore's "Limesickle". Sounds yummy, huh?! So today I went and bought the paint and Dan has his sights set on painting the nursery this weekend! I can't wait until the crib comes in and the entire nursery can get set up.

But for now I need to focus on this heap of dishes, finish cleaning, and get some laundry done.
