An organized home is a happy home :)

My college roommate used to consider me OCD when it came to cleaning and being organized. I don't know if I was really compulsive about it, but I was probably close.

Moving in with my husband has obviously changed my cleaning and organizing priorities. He is probably one of the most unorganized people I know. He has a "system" in his head, but its nothing anyone else can understand. To me, its really no system at all.

I have seen myself over the past year become more and more unorganized. Maybe I was subconsciously letting Dan take over and trusting his sense of organization. What happens then? Chaos. Things are everywhere. Nothing has its own place. Its place is wherever he decides to put it that day.

After all this time, I see its really stressing me out. To me, everything should be kept up with and have a specific place. Junk needs to be thrown out - not stored somewhere random to discover later. I'm going to make a change.

Organization is headed back to the Olson household! Getting things back in motion will be a daunting task, but once its done.... its a breeze to keep up with and much less stressful.

This blog is in no way a shot to my husband. He's the most amazing man I have ever met. Organization just isn't one of his strengths. At all. Its one of mine. So we're going to come together, get this house organized (which I'm sure will make life a bit easier once baby gets here!!), and learn to keep up with life.

I love organization. I love routine. And mostly, I love my husband :)
