Weekend Fun

We had a really good weekend full of friends, family and new cars (explanation to come). Dan came home from work a bit early on Friday (YAY!) and we cleaned house (YAY?). That night our friends Lauren and Brad came over for dinner. I put Dan in charge of the menu so we had a full meal of chicken and Baked Lays :)

Saturday we went from dealership to dealership looking for a new car. I have been researching cars for a couple months now and we decided to hit the road and test drive some. You might be wondering why we were doing this. We have perfectly good cars. Well, let me tell you that the 2007 Lexus IS is hardly practical for a Mommy. Tiny tiny. And with it being rear wheel, it absolutely refuses to go anywhere when there is a hint of snow on the ground. Even my I'm-from-Michigan-I-can-handle-the-snow-no-matter-what husband can't get it to go anywhere. So, we figured it might be best to find something new. Long story short, we purchased (or pretty much just traded.. unless you're counting the $75 admin fees they charge) a 2009 Mercury Mariner. I wanted white, so it had to be located, and will be delivered either today or tomorrow. YIPPEE!! I'm excited for the extra space, new car smell, and being able to get Savannah in and out of the car without banging her around trying to get her in the center of the car. However, I'm quite sad about no longer having the Lexus. I get so attached to cars its ridiculous. But give me five minutes. I'll get over it ;)

SO.... Saturday night we went to Sara and Mike's house for dinner. After our dinner there I am totally convinced we'd live longer if we ate there on a consistent basis. We had grilled corn, asparagus, potatos, and tuna. Y.U.M. We had the best time. Its so fun finding couples with babies to spend time with! We didn't leave their house until almost 11pm! It was a really good time.

Yesterday was Dan's first Father's Day. Savannah picked out a card for her Daddy and signed it (she may be two months... but don't underestimate her) and I did the same. We also gave him a couple movies (Taken and Gran Torino). One of these days we might get around to watching them! Church was great and our afternoon was relaxing. Dan worked on some homework while I played Mommy, and then we all relaxed. That evening we went to my Dad's for dinner, shuffleboard playing and a few games of pool. A very good day overall :)

I should probably touch back on the bottle issue. It is getting MUCH better. Savannah typically won't take the bottle without a bit of a fight, but she's getting better. She took it once right away and I about cried from joy (seriously)! We're still going to work on it continually until she takes it without a problem.
