Memorial Day Weekend

Before you read this - take time to thank God for a soldier in your life and for all the soldiers who serve us and our country! They are truly amazing and we are blessed to have them.

This weekend has been fun so far :) Friday was mostly relaxing once Dan came home from work. We took Savannah and Addie for a walk in the park and went to bed early. We had planned on having some coffee at Starbucks on Saturday morning, but due to rain we stayed home. Once the skies cleared we took Sav and Addie for another walk before heading out to do some errands that afternoon. Since having Savannah, we decided going to church on Saturday evenings might be easier than scrambling to make the Sunday morning service, but this didn't work out as planned for Saturday either! Savannah got fussy and wanted to be fed not too long before we needed to leave - no big deal. However, it was the diaper change that made us miss church. The girl shot poop for what felt like five minutes straight! We had quite a funny mess to clean up! Life with an infant is funny :) Then our friends Katie and Greg came over for dinner (and brought their new little baby - Samantha!).

Yesterday we made it to the 9am service at church (applause, applause) and went to Chase Litteken's lacrosse game that afternoon. After the game we all headed back to their house where Paul and Dan made a yummy dinner for all of us! Sherie's parents came too which I loved! I adore her parents... and Grandma Jeannie (her mom) was thrilled to meet Savannah!

Today we have been really productive around the house and will go to my Dad's house for dinner tonight. Yay for two home cooked meals two days in a row!

And now for some exciting news: Savannah is now big enough to fit in her BumGenius diapers!! Let the cloth diapering fun begin :) They are pretty bulky on her little body, but are great! I can't stand carrying a trash bag of diapers to the trash every week and feel a lot better about the cloth diapers. I did the first load of diaper laundry yesterday and it was smooth sailin'! :) We are thinking she will only wear BG diapers except on "outings" and trips where we will put her in disposables. I would have never imagined myself to be one to use cloth diapers, but am so glad I am!

YAY!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to hear all about your adventure with the BG's. I'm pretty pumped to get started on ours too! How much does she weigh? I'm trying to gage when this little human will be big enough! Also, are you using Allen's soap? Can't wait to hear more, and SOOOO THANKFUL I have a fellow sister on this cloth diaper journey with me!
